Synthesis and pharmacology of potential cocaine antagonists. 2. Structure-activity relationship studies of aromatic ring-substituted methylphenidate analogs.
As part of a program to develop medications which can block the binding of cocaine to the dopamine transporter, yet spare dopamine uptake, a series of aromatic ring-substituted methylphenidate derivatives was synthesized and tested for inhibitory potency in [3H]WIN 35,428 binding and [3H]dopamine uptake assays using rat striatal tissue. Synthesis was accomplished by alkylation of 2-bromopyridin...
متن کاملPharmacological examination of trifluoromethyl ring-substituted methcathinone analogs.
Cathinones are a class of drugs used to treat various medical conditions including depression, obesity, substance abuse, and muscle spasms. Some "designer" cathinones, such as methcathinone, mephedrone, and methylone, are used nonclinically for their stimulant or entactogenic properties. Given the recent rise in nonmedical use of designer cathinones, we aimed to improve understanding of cathino...
متن کاملReceptor binding profiles and quantitative structure-affinity relationships of some 5-substituted-N,N-diallyltryptamines.
N,N-Diallyltryptamine (DALT) and 5-methoxy-N,N-diallyltryptamine (5-MeO-DALT) are two tryptamines synthesized and tested by Alexander Shulgin. In self-experiments, 5-MeO-DALT was reported to be psychoactive in the 12-20mg range, while the unsubstituted compound DALT had few discernible effects in the 42-80 mg range. Recently, 5-MeO-DALT has been used in nonmedical settings for its psychoactive ...
متن کاملPOSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ION MASS SPECTRA OF RING - SUBSTITUTED NITROBENZENES
The 70 ev positive and negative ion mass spectra of ring-substituted nitrobenzenes were studied. The influence of the substituent group on the fragmentation modes of the molecular ions is discussed. The effect of pressure in the formation of negative ions was also studied. As expected, the ratio of fragment ions to negative molecular ions decreased with increasing pressure in ion source.
